The project is located in Yinwan Village, Ningbo, China. It is a traditional Chinese village with a history of more than a thousand years. The village faces the lake on three sides and is connected to the mountains on the other side, boasting a very beautiful natural landscape.

The hotel is positioned as a rustic luxury hotel, so in the design process, we have pondered on how to make the local long-standing cultural heritage and charming landscape resources become the defining characteristics of the hotel.

The site is situated at the foot of the mountain. After assessing the existing elevations, we have positioned the different guest rooms and functions at varying heights, allowing the entire building complex to nestle against the mountain and blend into nature. We prioritize environmental harmony, minimizing disruption to the natural scenery. Simultaneously, we ensure privacy, guaranteeing that each guest room has an independent view of the landscape.

The architectural design draws inspiration from the local fishermen's culture in Yinwan Village, capturing the essence of traditional folk architecture and translating it into design language. Utilizing "fishing boats" and "lake water" as key elements, we introduce water into the continuous arched roof design, leveraging the elevation differences to create a landscape reminiscent of "mountains and flowing water."

The utilization of local raw materials such as rubble, blue brick, rammed earth, granite, and wood ensures that the hotel building seamlessly integrates into the village while harmonizing with the ancient forest. The incorporation of infinity pools and high-transparency glass blurs the boundaries between indoors and outdoors, offering guests a more immersive experience that blends nature and luxury. We firmly believe that architecture should possess its local character, representing both the tradition and renewal of culture.
